Ms. Campos-Root’s career in the building industry began in 1989 after graduating from Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. As a licensed professional engineer in three states, Ms. Campos Root participated in the design and planning of numerous land development projects throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada –working closely with developers and municipalities to create cost effective solutions. Her experience as a civil engineer ranges from the development of raw land, subdivisions, municipal water projects, and government water quality assessment programs.

In 2000 her focus changed from civil engineering to commercial real estate when she became a licensed Commercial Real Estate broker. Miriam Campos Root, CCIM is vice president of Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate, a national full service real estate brokerage company in Las Vegas, Nevada. In that period of time, she has engaged and successfully closed on multi-tenant office, high profile class ‘ A’ office space, and mixed used developments. She is able to offer clients assistance in site selection, land acquisition, and development, and offers extensive knowledge in investment evaluation, sales and leasing.

With her civil engineering background, Ms. Campos Root has unparalleled knowledge and experience to assist her clients in areas of development, tenant improvements, site selection and more. Within the last two years, Ms. Campos Root has been turning her attention to sustainable building practice (green building) as a means for her clients to gain greater value from their buildings and increase the their return of investment. She approaches the concept of green building in the same way she has approached civil engineering and commercial real estate. Her intent is to educate her clients whether they are developers, investors, builders, or tenants to the advantage of going green and how that will affect their bottom line. She is currently working on introducing sustainable building practices to the CCIM organization nationwide. In March of 2008 Ms. Campos Root became the first female real estate agent in Nevada to earn her LEED AP designation.

Ms. Campos Root earned her CCIM designation in 2004. She is active in the local Southern Nevada CCIM chapter since 2000, currently serving on the chapter board. She served as the education committee chair and president elect in 2006, and the 2007 president for the chapter. She is currently involved with several institute programs and committees. Ms. Campos Root was elected to the national board of directors for 2008-2011. Additionally, she is part of the 2008 Jay W. Levine Leadership Academy, the 2008 Chapter Activities Sub-Committee, and the chair of Chapter activities Task Force for Cultural Diversity, and the Vice Chair for Member Services for 2008-2009.
